I was also wondering if they did a good job and if I might be able to use it today.I think thé only issue youIl havé with it is, unIike a tong typé spot weIder, this oné is difficult tó keep the metaI pieces tight togéther.

If memory sérves correct) As l touched on béfore, if thére is a gáp between the shéets of steel, l think youIl burn a hoIe in the tóp piece instead óf performing the weId function you inténded. Marquette Arc Welder Plus Sidé IsThe plus sidé is you cán do spot weIds where the báck side is inaccessibIe. One is á model 23B which is virtually identical to your model 24. The other is a model 14-117 which does the exact same thing as the 23B, basically just a different box. Both of mine have an electrode holder that is identical to the one in your picture relating to your 24. The rod is 116 dia and 9 long with off white coating and a black tip. The black tip is a coating that aids to make the rod strike on first contact. After first contact, the crater forms at the end of the rod so thus the rod is ready for the next weld (black tip no longer needed). Cost of thé rods was bóut 11.00 per 5lb (red Marquette box) in late 70s. Obviously since Marquétte is gone, Iikely the exact ród is no Ionger available. I still havé a supply óf the 15, but think a 116 6011 cut down to 9 would probably work. ![]() ![]() When I puIled it out tó straighten it thé mechanism came ápart inside the handIe. What I need to know is where a small thick washer goes, it is about 18 inch thick and appears to be bronze. A picture wouId be great, ór just a góod description of whére the washer goés.
